FT Wins Two 2016 Offshore Excellence Awards

FT Technologies has won two 2016 Offshore Excellence Awards for:

  • Best Turbine Control Wind Sensor Manufacturer – UK, and
  • Most Innovative Air Sensor Technology – Acu-Res®.

Now in its third year, the Offshore Excellence Awards celebrate the integrity of firms worldwide, covering the full spectrum of offshore business and industry across the seas. These awards highlight both the professionalism of companies working across the global business spectrum, such as legal and financial firms, alongside the grit and skill of the industrial organisations that dominate the seas, such as maritime and oil and gas companies.

Accepting the award for FT Technologies, Fred Squire, Director of Sales & Marketing, commented:

Unique to FT Technologies wind sensors, Acu-Res® was invented by our Executive Chairman, Dr Savvas Kapartis. Acu-Res® uses an acoustic (ultrasonic) wave which is resonated inside a small cavity. A strong resonating sound wave in a small space gives a signal to noise ratio more than 40db stronger than other ultrasonic technologies. Using Acu-Res® technology results in a small, easily heated sensor which operates reliably, even under extreme weather conditions.”
